Russian military forces released footage allegedly showing the destruction of a previously unreported Ukrainian air defense system.
According to a report from Defence Blog, the incident reportedly occurred 50 kilometers from the front line, where a Zala reconnaissance drone identified what appeared to be a truck-mounted air defense platform.
Russian forces claimed the target was a DAF military truck equipped with an improvised launcher and a fire control system capable of firing guided rockets.
In a video released by Russian military channels, the vehicle is shown being hit by a Lancet munition, resulting in a fire. The clip suggests the system was neither reinforced nor camouflaged, and the missile appears to have struck the upper structure of the launcher platform.
According to Russian media, the launcher may have been adapted to use APKWS (Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System) projectiles, laser-guided rockets originally developed by BAE Systems.
Widely used by NATO armed forces for precision strikes, these rockets are normally launched from helicopters or fixed-wing aircraft, but have also been adapted for ground applications.
The system reportedly included its own electro-optical sensor suite and a laser designator, allowing it to detect, track, and engage aerial targets autonomously or semi-autonomously.
However, no identification markings or visible radar components were observed in the footage, supporting analyses that the platform was a modular or improvised solution rather than a factory-produced air defense system.
